As part of our product team, you will be working closely with product managers and designers to create engaging user interface copy and documentation so that our users can easily complete their tasks through our platform.
Your role will be multi-facetted involving microcopy writing, documentation and managing translations to help create great experiences to our users across the globe. It will also be important to promote and champion best practices around internationalisation, UX writing and documentation so that our products are easy to use globally.
In this exciting role, you will be reporting to our Senior Technical Documentation and Localisation manager who will be providing support, guidance and mentoring to help develop your skills.
Writing engaging, helpful and user-friendly copy for the UI and the user documentation
Working on guidelines to ensure the tone of voice is consistent across all touchpoints
Coordinating translations for both the user interface and the user documentation. This includes ensuring that translation requests are fully localizable. It involves using translation platforms (across) and working with translation providers to deliver high quality copy in each language supported in the UI
Maintaining our across language server, terminology database and translation memory
Supporting and training our in-house translation experts with the “across” translation software
Working closely with Product Managers, Designers and Developers to enhance the comprehension and usability of our products and ensure our UI follows i18n requirements
Helping enhance the tools and processes we use so that we can work more effectively in delivering high quality international products
Skills & Expertise
Degree in the related field of Technical Writing, Translation & Localization Management, Journalism, Communications, or similar preferred
Experience as a technical / UX writer, with an emphasis on user interface copy and product documentation
Fluency in English and one other language.
You should be familiar with the differences between languages and the impact it has on creating localization-friendly copy
You have experience in UI localization and translation management
You are able to defend your copy and wording choices and convince others of their benefits
·You are organised, with the ability to independently manage projects and coordinate with stakeholders
You have good attention to detail
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you effectively interact with members from different departments
You are relatively comfortable with explaining complex technical contexts and features
You are willing to travel to Europe occasionally
