Junior Data Engineer (f/m)

Purpose of position

The Junior Data Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing internal and external reporting requirements to improve the business. Key success factors for this position are good statistical skills, strong analytical ability, as well as a good SQL and data modelling skills; these will enable you in supporting our growing and dynamic team. In this role you will get the chance to learn best practices of the digital industry and get exposure to our global network and offices. You will be part of our international team which is placed in Berlin, London and Amsterdam. We also invest in your personal development with a budget for conference visits and training.

Key Tasks

  • Work directly with product management to implement against product requirements
  • Design and implement reporting solutions for several departments group wide with Microsoft SQL Server and reporting services as primary tool
  • Providing a service and tooling to automate analysis processes
  • Maintain and optimize existing reports
  • Create individual exports for external clients
  • Deliver individual ad hoc data requests to support analyzing processes
  • Adapt and monitor our data processing pipeline
  • Re-analyzing procedures and data sources within existing reports
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms with local and remote

Skills & Expertise

  • Min. Bachelor degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science or comparable degree
  • Good knowledge in Data Warehousing concepts like Kimball
  • Prior experience in ETL processes and databases in a business environment with complex data structure
  • Expertise in SQL query performance optimization
  • Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server (2016) and T-SQL
  • First Experience in SSRS, SSIS and SSAS
  • Familiar with version control systems like Team Foundation Server and Git
  • Used to work with Jira and KANBAN in an agile environment
  • Experience of working within a product development life cycle
  • A passion for efficiency and correct output
  • Statistical-, analytical-skills combined with an structured way of working and an affinity to numbers
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Able to work independently and prioritize on various topics simultaneously
  • Good English skills, German would be a bonus
